Highest FPS: 100fps
ray tracing: 1026p to 4K PSSR2 at a solid 60fps (some short-lived dips to mid 50s, more frequent in cpu-heavy cities) with RT & improved SSR on water.
performance: 1440p to 4K PSSR2 at a solid 60fps (some short-lived dips to high 50s) with no RT. Generally around 80-95fps with VRR, or around 65-75fps in cities.
For the 2026 remaster, base PS5 retains the 30fps RT mode and 60fps performance mode from 2022's 'complete edition'. Internal res is however dropped from 1080p-1440p (RT mode) and 1080p-4K (performance) to around 1350p and 1296p respectively. Despite a potentially slightly softer image, more accurate lighting/foliage, sharper textures, etc, still results in improved overall IQ. Finally, there's some 1-7fps dips below 60fps and rarer 1-3fps dips below 30fps (especially areas like Novigrad).
Pro also has these 2 modes, but significantly increases the framerate to 60fps with RT and usually around 90fps in performance mode. Pro also uses superior PSSR2 upscaling, which resolves a sharper, cleaner, and more stable image than the equivalent mode on base PS5 (even when base PS5 has a higher internal res). This is especially seen in motion, in sub-pixel elements like Geralt's hair and chainmail, and around RTGI. Unfortunately, there's no new RT features like reflections/shadows, even though they were in the 2022 PC re-release.
