Extra Information

Disclaimer: As a whitelisted game, Silent Hill f uses PSSR2 regardless of whether the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle is on/off in the PS5 system settings. You can therefore safely disregard any Pro analysis conducted before March 2026 (or at least hasn't been updated to include PSSR2 testing), as this PSSR1-centred performance discussion no longer applies.

Pro has a singular mode that's 864p-1368p DRS to 1440p PSSR2 at 60fps. Its PSSR2 implementation (added March 2026) significantly improves upon PSSR1, which particularly suffered from pulsing/strobing RTGI in assets like grass. This is completely fixed with PSSR2, along with an overall sharper image that resolves more texture detail, has none of PSSR1's film grain-like noise, and significantly reduces the shimmering/aliasing of sharp edges like doors (especially in motion).

With these many PSSR2 improvements resulting in a far sharper/more stable image, Pro now lives up to its marketing by being comparable to base PS5 quality mode's higher visuals and 1080p-1440p resolution (upscaled via TSR), but at 60fps seen in base PS5's performance mode (810p-1080p DRS to 1440p TSR). Finally, both Pro and base PS5 performance mode run at a stable 60fps except for mid 50s traversal stutters in open areas and base PS5 quality mode is a locked 30fps.
