Disclaimer: As RE4 isn't whitelisted by Sony, it uses PSSR1 by default, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. While PSSR2 hasn't been tested with RE4 yet, Mark Cerny (PS5 architect) said Sony's broader testing found no issues in most titles. Only a few suffered from instability in sub-pixel light sources, with 99%+ of the game still improved. Community PSSR2 testing supports this, where at the very least, games are more stable, sharper, and remove PSSR1's film grain-like noise. Therefore, enable PSSR2 by activating 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' in PS5 system settings, and only revert back if there are major issues.
There's a lot of toggles in this game for RT/HFR/better hair quality etc, so the 2 modes above represent the image quality with all the toggles either on or off. Resolution mode holds a much more stable 60fps than same mode on base PS5, which hovers around 45fps.
