Extra Information

Disclaimer: In order to use PSSR2 in Ratchet, you must activate the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle in the PS5 system settings. As Ratchet isn't whitelisted by Sony and therefore still uses PSSR1 by default, this page's analysis still displays PSSR1 metrics. Fortunately, Digital Foundry reviewed Ratchet with PSSR2 toggled on and confirm it improves issues mentioned below such as removing PSSR1 film grain-like noise, ghosting (confetti at the beginning etc) and moire artifacts, leading to an overall cleaner image. PSSR2 is therefore recommended for Ratchet.

Fidelity Pro is sharper/more stable than Performance Pro, but PSSR in general resolves more detail than the FSR upscaling utilized in every base PS5 mode. Especially in motion with less aliasing etc, but PSSR can be noisier in stills (check disclaimer to easily improve these PSSR1 issues with PSSR2). Performance Pro mode has much sharper RT reflections than base PS5 Performance RT mode. Fidelity Pro RT reflections look even less aliased as they're full resolution and its RTAO has more contact shadows - adding depth to assets all over the screen.
