Extra Information

Disclaimer: As HIU isn't whitelisted by Sony, it uses PSSR1 by default, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. While PSSR2 hasn't been tested with HIU yet, Mark Cerny (PS5 architect) said Sony's broader testing found no issues in most titles. Only a few suffered from instability in sub-pixel light sources, with 99%+ of the game still improved. Community PSSR2 testing supports this, where at the very least, games are more stable, sharper, and remove PSSR1's film grain-like noise. Therefore, enable PSSR2 by activating 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' in PS5 system settings, and only revert back if there are major issues.

Both of base PS5's modes also have a 1080p common internal resolution before upscaling to 4K. The biggest differences are in graphical settings - particularly level of detail, where quality mode on both consoles transform the image due to a significant increase in assets like foliage. Pro is also more stable than base PS5 in both modes, but all modes only dip 1-2fps. It just happens less often on Pro. Pro can also use TSR and PSSR for upscaling, but neither provide a significant advantage in image quality or framerate. As a UE5 game, TSR is likely the safer option in the long-run though.
