RT Types: Unreal Engine 5 hardware-based Lumen global illumination, reflections (glossy and rough surfaces) and MegaLights for interior/local lights.
Highest Resolution: Upscaled 4K PSSR2
Highest FPS: 60fps
quality: Around 1728p DRS to 4K PSSR2 at a locked 30fps. Some slight graphics settings improvements (check extra info).
performance: Around 1224p-1440p DRS to 4K PSSR2 at a basically locked 60fps (rare, short-lived 1-2fps dips in very few areas).
Quality mode's higher DRS resolves slightly more stable RT and improved terrain detail, but the image quality gap between Pro's modes is only slight. Base PS5 has the same 2 modes that also use the more accurate hardware-based Lumen RT, but has lower DRS values at around 1440p and 1152p for its quality and performance modes. Pro also uses PSSR2 to upscale to 4K, which resolves a sharper, cleaner, and more stable image (especially in motion) compared to base PS5, which uses TSR.
These PSSR2 improvements are significant enough that Pro performance mode has better image quality than base PS5 quality mode in many ways (sharper foliage, more stable RT reflections etc), but the IQ gap between performance modes is even wider. Base PS5's has reduced foliage, worse LoDs at distance, blurrier shadows, a softer image, and noisier Lumen RT. Base PS5's 60fps is also less stable, with maintained 1-5fps dips in some firefights.
