ray tracing balanced: Higher DRS than RT Pro mode, but still upscaled to 4K PSSR and now at a locked 40fps with RT. Averages 44fps in large combat scenarios but averages mid 50s in general gameplay and up to 60fps with VRR/uncapped.

ray tracing pro: 1080p-1656p DRS (around 1440p average) to 4K PSSR at a locked 60fps with RT. Averages 70-90fps in general gameplay and 68fps in large combat scenarios with VRR/uncapped. Exclusive to Pro.

Extra Information

The first 5 modes are also on base PS5, but Pro has a higher internal resolution (base PS5 quality mode is as low as 1800p, 1080p-1440p DRS in performance mode and 1440p in ray tracing mode etc). Base PS5 is also only capable of RTGI at up to 60fps with VRR unlocked. RTGI can significantly enhance image quality (especially scenes with lots of sunlight) with more realistic lighting and shadows that adds nuance/depth. Despite the 1080p-1656p internal resolution in RT Pro mode, its excellent PSSR implementation results in an image as sharp as quality mode's native 4K. PSSR also trades blows in image quality - some assets are a little noisier, but others are more stable/have less ghosting with PSSR. With VRR, Pro averages slightly higher framerates than the equivalent mode on base PS5 (71fps vs 64fps avg in performance mode etc). However, uncapping the framerate results in the lower bounds of the mode's DRS being hit more often. Finally, cutscenes are 30fps regardless of mode/console.
