Disclaimer: As F1 24 isn't whitelisted by Sony, it uses PSSR1 by default, so this page still displays PSSR1 metrics. While PSSR2 hasn't been tested with F1 24 yet, Mark Cerny (PS5 architect) said Sony's broader testing found no issues in most titles. Only a few suffered from instability in sub-pixel light sources, with 99%+ of the game still improved. Community PSSR2 testing supports this, where at the very least, games are more stable, sharper, and remove PSSR1's film grain-like noise. Therefore, enable PSSR2 by activating 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' in PS5 system settings, and only revert back if there are major issues.
Base PS5's quality mode has no RT during gameplay, whereas Pro's quality mode has 3/4 RT which dramatically improves realism. Pro even brings back RT shadows for cutscenes (which are now at 40fps, instead of base PS5's 30fps) and replays. Base PS5's quality mode resolution is 1800p-4K DRS, yet Pro's PSSR very nearly matches its sharpness despite being at 1080p-1440p DRS. Base PS5 has no 8K mode and its 120 Hz performance mode is also usually at 1080p compared to Pro's 1440p.
