Funcom have confirmed that base PS5 will use frame-gen, so it's likely that this balanced mode is the one using it to reach 60fps while preserving more visual quality. Performance mode on both consoles should reach 60fps natively, resulting in less input lag. Finally, Funcom have also confirmed that all modes will render at upscaled 4K and that they will confirm internal resolutions closer to launch.
