Extra Information

Framerates can dip to the mid 20s in all modes in select CPU-heavy scenes. Of the 12 graphics settings presets (shadows, textures etc), the only difference between quality and balanced mode (aside from RT) is lighting quality going from ultra to high. Most settings are reduced in performance mode, some by more than 1 preset like model quality. However, performance mode is only slightly worse than base PS5 quality mode, at 2x the framerate.

Base PS5 has the same modes, but with worse framerate stability and RT quality (high in quality mode and low in balanced/performance). Performance mode framerate is especially poor, as it regularly falls below VRR range. Base PS5 also has lower internal res - 1440p in quality mode, 1280p to 4K in balanced and 1080p in performance (with fixed 4K output on, otherwise native 1080p) and uses FSR3 - upscaling a softer/more unstable image than PSSR2 and adds ghosting/artifacting.
