Disclaimer: In order to use PSSR2 in Battlefield 6, you must activate the 'Enhance PSSR Image Quality' toggle in the PS5 system settings. As BF6 isn't whitelisted by Sony and therefore still uses PSSR1 by default, this page's analysis still displays PSSR1 metrics. Fortunately, Digital Foundry reviewed BF6 with PSSR2 toggled on and confirm a more stable, sharper image (especially in foliage) with no more PSSR1 film grain-like noise. PSSR2 is therefore recommended for BF6.
Base PS5 balanced mode has similar DRS/framerate to Pro. However, it uses Pro performance mode's inferior GTAO compared to Pro's SSGI, resulting in less realistic lighting/occlusion. Base PS5 performance mode uses GTAO, has lower DRS (1080p-1224p) and also runs at a lower 80-95fps compared to Pro performance mode. Base PS5 also uses FSR to upscale, however, Pro's PSSR creates a sharper 4K-like image with greater detail outside of foliage, which can look softer (check disclaimer to easily fix this with PSSR2).
While both Pro and base PS5 performance modes have worse visual settings, cutbacks are worse on base PS5. Menus are 30fps and cutscenes are capped at 60fps in all modes. In REDSEC, the DRS and performance mode framerate on both consoles are slightly lower than previously stated due to the increased BR scale.
