Extra Information

Base PS5 has the same 3 modes with similar resolution targets and framerate performance. However, Pro PSSR2's upscaling resolves a sharper, cleaner and more stable image compared to the equivalent mode on base PS5, which uses TAAU. There's a particularly large gap between performance modes, as base PS5 performance mode also doesn't use RT reflections (a big loss due to how much gameplay takes place on the ocean), has more artifacting RTGI, and looks noticeably blurrier.

On Pro, all modes have individual hair strands for Edward/NPCs in cinematics, but fidelity mode extends this to nearby NPCs in gameplay (only lower quality hair cards in gameplay on base PS5). Pro fidelity mode also has the sharpest image and has improved draw distances (higher quality trees etc). Both it and balanced mode also have sharper, more stable RT reflections, improved shadow resolution, and less obvious screen space shadows for distant structures/foliage. However in practice, the image quality gap between Pro modes is far smaller than base PS5. Pro performance mode still has great IQ that rivals base PS5 fidelity mode, but at 60fps.
